Frantic Monday

As I was recently laid off, my work week is not nearly as busy as it used to be. I still wake up early in the morning, I still eat my usual breakfast, but that’s where the routines diverge. Today, I had a few appointments in the morning so I showered and dressed as I would normally, and started running around town. I’m trying to network and meet and interview and do all the things you’re supposed to do when you’re looking for work. As anyone that has been laid off or fired or just unemployed knows, looking for a job is the worst. Constant cover letters and enthusiasm when you’re feeling hopeless is difficult. But you press on, grit and answer questions when well-meaning friends ask for updates, and hope for the best.
